Advice from Matt Murton (Hanshin Tigers)

Matt Murton from the Hanshin Tigers just started his own website. This is a great site to get to know Matt Murton on a professional and a personal level. He has already shared some of his keys to success. I recommend this site and I am really looking forward to hearing more from him.

A few days ago he released several blogs called “Tip of the Day”. They are simple keys that help him in his success. They are also keys that would apply to anyone who wants to experience success.

3 Keys to Success

These 3 keys is really a definition of what success is. Of all of the many definitions of success that I have heard this is probably one the best ones.  It is found in Your Road Map for Success by John Maxwell

3 Keys to Success:

1.Knowing Your Purpose in Life

You have a specific purpose that only you can fulfill. You will not experience the full extent of success without knowing your purpose. Some people takes a lifetime to find it, but keep searching.  Accomplishing #2&3 will be a great help in finding your purpose.

2.Growing to Your Maximum Potential

Success comes as a result of growing in our potential. Henry Ford said, “there is no man living who isn’t capable of doing more than he thinks he can do”

Don’t be a jack of all trades and master of none. Be a jack of a few trades, focus on one. Focus on your potential and continue to grow in that area.

3.  Sowing Seeds that Benefit Others.

We have seeds and unless we sow the seeds we will eventually end up with nothing. Use your purpose and potential to benefit others.

Danny Thomas (Entertainer) said, “Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. Its what you do (give) to others.”

3 Questions that Produce Action

It is important to make an effort to apply information as soon as you learn it. You can do that by asking yourself these questions anytime you learn something new:
1. Where can I use it?
2. When can I use it?
3. Who else needs to know it?
Dont let your learning lead to knowledge. Let your learning lead to action.
